The Florida Greek Guy team tried this Greek baked beans recipe out last week and it was phenomenal! This is a delicious sweet bean recipe that will go deliciously with your choice of red meat (seasoned with our meat spice of course) and a glass of Metaxa. Opa!
2-3 cups of cooked beans (your choice)
¼ cup extra virgin Greek olive oil
2 onions chopped
2 cloves garlic minced or chopped fine
1 cup of pureed tomatoes
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons red wine
3 tablespoons honey
2 cups hot water
1 bay leaf
2 whole cloves
2 tablespoons Florida Greek Guy Greek Village Blend
¼ cup grated sharp cheese like Kefaloteri
Cook beans and drain. To make the sauce, heat the olive oil in a saucepan and fry onions until translucent. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Add beans and turn off heat, stir for about 3 minutes. Pour beans and sauce into a shallow baking pan and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. When done sprinkle top with cheese.
