Greek Baked Beans Recipe

Greek Baked Beans

The Florida Greek Guy Team tried this Greek baked beans recipe out last week and it was phenomenal! This is a delicious sweet bean recipe that will go deliciously with your choice of red meat  (seasoned with our meat spice of course) and a glass of Metaxa. Opa!

Ingredients

2-3 cups of cooked beans (your choice)

Sauce:

¼ cup Extra Virgin Greek Olive Oil

2 onions chopped

2 cloves garlic minced or chopped fine

1 cup of pureed tomatoes

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

2 tablespoons red wine

3 tablespoons honey

2 cups hot water

1 Bay leaf

2 whole cloves

2 tablespoons Florida Greek Guy Greek Village Spice

¼ cup grated sharp cheese like Kefaloteri

Instructions

Cook beans and drain.  To make the sauce heat the olive oil in a saucepan and fry onions until translucent.  Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Add beans and turn off heat, stir for about 3 minutes.  Pour beans and sauce into a shallow baking pan and bake at 375 F. for 30 minutes.  When done sprinkle top with cheese.

Don’t forget to try our new Opa! spice blend, with any order of two spice blends we will throw in one FREE Opa blend! The Opa blend is our first blend that has a little bit of a kick to it, not too hot for the kids to enjoy though! We at Florida Greek Guy recognize that it’s not how hot you make it, but how you make it hot!
